Wildlife Observation

Many people drive through the refuge in the evenings throughout the year to watch wildlife. In the fall, hundreds of visitors come to view waterfowl, or to catch a glimpse of one of the many large white-tailed deer bucks.

Almost half of our visitors arrive in October and November, when waterfowl numbers are at their peak, but any time of year offers an opportunity to see wildlife and to enjoy the scenery.

Please check the regulations page before your visit, because portions of the refuge are closed during the fall and winter.
