2. Where is the Media Library located?
The Media Library is located in Chilton Hall, Room 111. Chilton Hall is on the corner of Avenue C and Chestnut, across from the Student Health and Wellness Center.
4. How long can I keep DVDs or videos from the Media Library?
Refer to the Media Library Checkout Information chart for checkout periods.
6. What media formats are available?

7. How do I access the Media Library catalog?
The Media Library's collection may be searched in the UNT Library Catalog. You may also book materials online.
8. What do the Media Libary call numbers mean?
- MV - Videocassette
- Most of the videocassettes in the Media Library collection are VHS 1/2 inch.
- DVD - Digital Versatile Disc
- LD - Laserdisc
- MP - Motion Picture
- Most of the motion pictures in the Media Library are in 16 mm format. MPs are housed in remote storage and require a 24-hour retrieval period. Submit the Library Materials Delivery Request Form to request materials.
- Slide - Slide
- Slides are housed in remote storage and require a 24-hour retrieval period. Submit the Library Materials Delivery Request Form to request materials.
- FS - Filmstrip
- All the filmstrips in the Media Library collection are 35 mm and are often accompanied by audiocassettes. Filmstrips are housed in remote storage and require a 24-hour retrieval period. Submit the Library Materials Delivery Request Form to request materials.
- Ph-tape - Audiocassettes
- All audiocassettes in the Media Library collection are 1 7/8 ips, regular audiocassettes.
- ACD - Audio Compact Disc
- Ph-disc - Sound recording on disc (record)

Most sound recordings on disc in the Media Library collection are 33 1/3 rpm
LPs, but there are a few 78 rpm discs.

9. What reference services does the Media Library offer?
The Media Library provides reference services during all hours that the Media Library is open. Reference by appointment, with a Media Librarian, is available for extensive or special research needs.

11. How do Faculty use the Media Library courier service?
The Media Library offers courier delivery of items to any faculty member's department. Through this service, items are delivered one day prior to scheduled show date and can be returned in the same manner. In order to take advantage of this service please place bookings at least 48 hours in advance of the item's scheduled show date. Also, be aware of the designated Media Library delivery area in the department office where the courier will drop off items and pick them up for return. Personal items that are placed on reserve for a specific course in the Media Library cannot be picked up or returned by the courier since, for accountability, a signature is needed in these instances.
12. How do faculty book or scheduled media materials for class?
In order to ensure the availability of the items needed for instruction and research, the Media Library provides scheduling services. See Booking Materials for more information.
13. Can media materials be delivered by courier to the Dallas Campus?
The courier for the Dallas Campus runs on Wednesdays as needed.
14. Can TWU Faculty checkout items from the Media Library?
Yes, TWU Faculty may check out videocassettes, DVDs, laserdiscs, and 16mm motion pictures from the Media Library for seven days using a Courtesy Card.
