Ten cities also earn Growth Awards
Some 52 Oregon cities were recently recognized as Tree City USA communities -- the highest-ever total for the state. Ten of these communities met even higher standards to earn additional status -- Growth Awards -- for developing strong community tree programs. Tree City USA recognizes communities that develop programs to plant and care for trees. Trees are important to Oregon's quality of life and livable communities, providing fish and wildlife habitat, shade, wood products, and clean, healthy streams.
