| Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) - Staff
Each year, NIMH scientists produce new inventions for which the NIMH Technology Transfer Office strives to ensure the broadest possible patent protection, as well as their rapid and effective transfer to the private sector for commercial development
NIMH Technology Transfer services are being provided through a Service Center agreement with the NIH Office of Technology Transfer. This arrangement provides an integrated, seamless, and efficient evaluation of agreements, Employee Invention Reports, and licensing activities.
The Office provides a full range of support services, including individualized consultation with NIMH scientists, the negotiation of transactional agreements with non-NIMH parties, general information dissemination about NIMH technology transfer opportunities, and outreach initiatives to industry.
Dr. Suzanne Winfield, Technology Development Coordinator, has been with NIMH Technology Transfer since 1999. She came to this office with 20 years of laboratory experience, including 14 years with NIMH in the Clinical Neuroscience Branch, Division of Intramural Research Programs. Dr. Winfield's areas of expertise are in genetics and molecular biology, and she is certified by the Patent and Trademark Office as a patent agent.
