Recent
renovations equipped this existing tiered auditorium with distance learning
technology, making it the largest facility of its kind on The Ohio State
University campus. The CEd Distance Learning Facility makes it easier
for large capacity groups to reach out and engage in a face-to-face format
with others in remote locations.
The auditorium features
satellite uplink capabilities, interactive video conferencing for multiple
simultaneous projections, combined classroom and auditorium seating —
approximately half of the seats include tables wired for Internet access
for connecting laptops — and both a smart podium and control room
to command all aspects of the room, including lighting, sound, a dedicated
computer, and the multimedia equipment.
The facility is available for use by University staff and faculty engaged
in distance education. To learn more, arrange a tour of the auditorium
or schedule its use, contact Tony DeCamella at (614) 688-4904 or decamella.1@osu.edu.
