Mouse Phenotyping |
Rodent phenotyping services are available to intramural NIH investigators working with genetically engineered mouse models. The service includes comprehensive standardized gross and histopathologic analyses of genetically engineered mouse strains, including the analyses of organ weights, serum chemistries and hematology. The workup is designed to evaluate the expected and unexpected phenotypes due to the gene manipulations. Recommended analysis evaluates 12 age-matched mice, 6 mutant and 6 wild-type controls (3 males and 3 females in each group), but smaller groups can be evaluated. |
