Soil pH 6.0 to 7.0 - Sow the seeds after all danger of frost has passed in a sunny location of the garden. Sow the seeds one inch deep, 4 feet apart, in rows 6 feet apart. Work plenty of compost into the soil before planting, as pumpkins are heavy feeders. Mulch with black plastic to help retain moisture in the soil as well as controlling weed growth, and remember to fertilize your pumpkin patch monthly.
