Welcome from our Dean and Director
The University of New Hampshire
Cooperative Extension provides New Hampshire citizens with research-based
education and information, enhancing their ability to make informed
decisions that strengthen youth, families and communities, sustain
natural resources, and improve the economy. As a University outreach program, we have a network of professional Extension staff located in all 10 New Hampshire counties. Our staff work with local volunteers and specialists on the UNH campus to design and conduct educational programs that meet societal, environmental and economic needs. |

While many of our programs
are conducted locally, we also use current communications technology
including computer networking and interactive television. As part
of the national land-grant university system, we also access the
knowledge and expertise of other state land-grant universities throughout
the U.S. Cooperative Extension derives its name from the partnership structure which combines federal, state and county funding. This "cooperative" effort ensures all people have local access to their state university and the knowledge and resources available to address needs and problems. The principal partner is the University of New Hampshire. As a state land-grant university it is charged by Congress to conduct resident instruction, research, and outreach to people beyond the classroom. Please use this website to become more familiar with UNH Cooperative Extension. I encourage you to contact any member of the staff if you have questions or needs we can address.
