Umpqua River, Oregon
Rises in Cascade Range, flows westerly about 120 miles, and empties into Pacific Ocean 180 miles south of Columbia River and 465 miles north of San Francisco Bay.
At Gardiner 650 feet of wharf frontage. Also oil unloading facility owned by International Paper Co. for exclusive use of tanker barges. Port of Umpqua owns one wharf with 456 feet of water frontage, of which 228 feet is usable for vessels and another with about 75 feet of water frontage which has not been used generally for commercial shipping.

Jetties:
North jetty is 8,000 feet long.
South jetty is 4,200 feet long.
Training jetty is 6,100 feet long.
Main Features:
A shoreline stabilization works near Winchester Bay is 2,760 feet long.
Channel stabilization works near River Mile 0+04 is 2,000 feet long.
From the ocean to the entrance channel to River Mile 0+05 is 200 feet wide and and 26 feet deep.
Thence a channel is 12 miles long, 200 feet wide, and 22 feet deep.
Distance to a turning basin at Reedsport, Oregon is 1,000 feet long, 600 feet wide, and 22 feet deep.
At Winchester Bay:
East Basin channel from deep water is 3,100 feet long, 100 feet wide, and 16 feet deep.
Thence a channel is 500 feet long, 100 feet wide, and 16 feet deep.
Thence a channel is 950 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 12 feet deep.
West Basin channel from deep water is 4,100 feet long, 100 feet wide, and 16 feet deep.
Turning basin is 200 feet long, 160 feet wide, and 16 feet deep.
Umpqua River Mile 7+40 to Gardiner, Oregon:
A side channel is 1.2 miles long, 200 feet wide, and 22 feet deep.
To a turning basin at Gardiner, Oregon is 800 feet long, 500 feet wide, and 22 feet deep.
At Scholfield River (inactive):
A channel is 2 miles long, 100 feet wide, and 12 feet deep.
Thence a channel is 500 feet long, 300 feet wide, and 12 feet deep.
