The New Jersey Department of Transportation’s Office of Maritime Resources (NJDOT/OMR), in concert with other state and non-profit organizations, provides programs for the general public, school-aged children and industry professionals.

Take me Fishing and Boating

On Take Me Fishing you will find information on safe boating, boat care and family friendly boating features and tips. A section of the site is dedicated to fishing in New Jersey.

United States Merchant Marine Academy

The United States Merchant Marine Academy, Global Maritime and Transportation School offers special training programs, seminars and conferences. In addition, any of the calendar courses can be modified to meet a sponsor's particular requirements. You can obtain the current course schedule, Transportation, Logistics and Management online. Courses are offered throughout the year.

PortSide New York is a new maritime center coming to Red Hook, Brooklyn. The center will encompass a wharf servicing workboats, a museum about contemporary maritime issues, a maritime job center and retail stores. Residents and visitors in the metropolitan area will be able to visit a place where they can see and appreciate workboats from a public-access esplanade. Workboats and local crews will now have access to more comforts than your usual tie-up, and the public will gain an understanding of a working port beyond that of a typical maritime museum.
