The Western Groundfish Conference is a unique biennial opportunity to review current research on groundfish science and management on the west coast of the United States and Canada. Topics include stock assessment, survey methodology, fishery monitoring, ecosystem analysis, conservation, marine protected areas, habitat classification and general fishery biology. The conference will include plenary, oral, and poster sessions and workgroup sessions. The atmosphere will be informal to encourage presentation of ongoing research and sharing of ideas.

Northwest Stream Restoration Design Symposium

The 5th annual symposium will be hosted by River Restoration Northwest in Stevenson, WA. There will also be three concurrent optional pre-symposium workshops on 30 January. (Pre-registration is required.)
The symposium will focuses on stream restoration questions of concern to project planners, designers, regulators, and land managers in the Pacific Northwest.
Cephalopod International Advisory Council Symposium 2006

The North Pacific Marine Science Organization (PICES) announces its 15th Annual Meeting. The meeting is hosted by the Government of Japan, in cooperation with the Fisheries Research Agency, in coordination with the PICEA Secretariat. The meeting theme will be "Boundary current ecosystems".
The deadline for early registration, abstract submission, and financial support application is 01 July 2005.
NaGISA World Conference 2006
15-18 October 2006
Kobe, Japan
The conference will begin on the evening of 15 October with a public lecture. The scientific symposium will follow on the 16-18 with sessions on rocky shore and seagrass bed communities, nearshore taxonomy (macrofauna, macroflora and meiofauna) and an open poster session. Panel discussions on the 18th will address a variety of topics including the integration of NaGISA into national and regional monitoring programs.
Abstracts are due 31 May 2006. Online registration deadline is 29 September 2006. Onsite registration will be available before the meeting.
