Safeguarding the Nation's Nuclear StockpileMissionChemistry and Metallurgy Research Facility Replacement (CMRR) ProjectThis website is for informational and planning purposes only, and is a market research tool to determine the availability and adequacy of potential business sources prior to issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP). This is not an RFP (request for proposal) or solicitation. The Chemistry and Metallurgy Research (CMR) Facility at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) was built in 1952; its planned end-of-life is in or around 2010. Many of the CMR facility systems and structural components are aged, outmoded, eroding, and generally deteriorating. The CMRR Project is seeking enclosure fabricators that can meet the Quality Assurance requirements of Department of Energy (DOE) Order 414.1C, Quality Assurance and 10CFR830, Subpart A, Nuclear Safety: Quality Assurance Requirements, using NQA-1-2000, Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facility Applications as the basis of its Quality Assurance Program.
