ASM-AO  Chemistry & Metallurgy Research Facility Replacement (CMRR) Project

CMRR Project Schedule

In July 1999, the NNSA-approved strategy for managing risks at the CMR building committed NNSA and LANL to manage the facility to a planned end-of-life in or about 2010.  The CMRR Project Schedule is highly dependent on programmatic and funding constraints currently being experienced by the project and is likely to further extend the project’s duration.

The Radiological Laboratory/Utility/Office Building (RLUOB) is currently under construction with a projected completion date of 2009.  The Special Facilities Equipment (SFE) portion of the RLUOB is in the final design phase.  Enclosure procurement (bid, evaluate and award by LANL) is tentatively scheduled to begin late calendar year 2008.

Preliminary design work for the Nuclear Facility (NF) has been completed.  Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2009 and is expected to be complete by 2014.  The SFE portion of the NF is in Interim Design.
