The primary purpose of Fort Campbell High School is to provide a program of study, which includes challenges, rewards and relevancy to the student’s educational and/or vocational goals. In addition our mission is to assist the student in developing critical thinking and effective communication skills, to promote and reinforce responsible social and civic behaviors, and foster positive attitudes and a realistic self-concept. As a National School of Excellence, we take pride in the course of study offered at FCHS designed to meet the goals set forth above.

FCHS offers two (2) diploma programs; the DODEA Diploma and the DODEA Honors Diploma.

I.  Graduation Requirements

4 - Language Arts

3 - Math (Algebra I & Geometry are required; 3rd must be course code of 400+)

3 - Science (Biology required & either Chemistry or Physics is required)

3 - Social Studies (must earn 1 credit US History, 1 in either

World Regions or World History, & ½ Government)

2 - Foreign Language (must be 2 credits in the same language)

2 - Professional Technical Studies (1/2 must be computer tech)

1 ½ - Physical Education

½ - Health credit

1 - Fine Art credit (art, music, drama and/or humanities)

6 - Electives

TOTAL: 26 credits with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA to graduate

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Other optional credit opportunities:

1.  Students may elect to take classes at Austin Peay State University and/or Hopkinsville Community College. Students interested in taking classes at APSU must meet early admission requirements. All work done at Austin Peay must be completed by May 10. Students interested in taking classes should make an appointment with the counselors. The student and his/her parents are responsible for all costs of these classes.

2.  Students may also make up classes by correspondence at the expense of the parents. Students taking correspondence classes for graduation must finish all work by May 1st.  Students interested in correspondence courses should see the counselors.

DoDEA Honors Diploma - effective School Year 2007-2008, students graduating from DoDEA schools will earn an Honors diploma by meeting all the following criteria:

1. Completion of all graduation requirements

2. Earn a passing grade and take the requisite examinations in a minimum of 4 Advanced Placements courses

3. Earn a Grade Point Average of 3.8 or higher, based on grades received through the end of the second semester of the graduating year.
