Boating Infrastructure Grant Program - Funding
06/15/2012 - The Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program announces the publication of the annual Request for Applications (RFA) for the Fiscal Year 2013 Boating Infrastructure Grant Program (BIG), Tier 1 and Tier 2 on Grants.gov (CFDA 15.622). The RFA will be open through September 19, 2012. In FY 2012, BIG awarded more than $2.5 million in BIG Tier 1, basic grants to 26 states, and more than $7.5 million in BIG Tier 2, Competitive grants to 10 States. We anticipate awarding up to $5.6 million in Tier 1 grants and $11 million in Tier 2 grants in FY 2013. BIG provides funds to States to construct, renovate, or maintain boating infrastructure facilities and associated amenities for transient, nontrailerable recreational boats at least 26 feet long.
1/27/2012 - Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar announced that more than $7.5 million will be awarded to 10 States for 11 Tier 2 Boating Infrastructure Grant projects. and approximately $2.5 million to 26 States, commonwealths, and territories in Tier 1 Boating Infrastructure Grant projects. 5/20/2011 - The Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program announces the publication of the annual Request for Applications (RFA) for the Fiscal Year 2012 Boating Infrastructure Grants Program (BIG), Tier 1 and Tier 2 on Grants.gov. The RFA will be open for more than 120 days through September 21, 2011. In FY 2011, BIG awarded 27 Tier 1 grants totaling more than $2.6 million and 16 Tier 2 grants totaling over $13.5 million. We expect to award $3 million in Tier 1 grants and $9 million in Tier 2 grants in FY 2012. BIG provides funds to States to construct, renovate, or maintain boating infrastructure facilities and associated amenities for transient, nontrailerable recreational boats at least 26 feet long.
