Quick THEA is a THEA Test that is administered by a college on a flexible schedule--that is any time the college deems necessary. This test costs the same as the regular THEA Test and is payable by check, money order or credit card when the test is taken. There is no prior mail-in registration as with the regular THEA Test. The Quick THEA Test may be taken once every 30 days. It will take approximately 8-10 days to receive all three scores. The Quick THEA Tests offered by UNT are only available on the UNT campus.
Allow 6 hours. 1 hour for registration and up to 5 hours for testing. Leave when finished.
No pre-registration. Register and pay at site.
$29.00 (NO CASH or debit cards). Personal check; money order, Visa/Master Card. Make check/money order payable to NES. NO Discover or American Express cards. Put your social security number on check or money order.
Picture identification (drivers license, student ID, passport)
Several sharpened #2 pencils with erasers.
You may use a four-function, non-programmable calculator with square root and percent keys. NO graphing or scientific calculators allowed.
Cash for payment. Cell phones, beepers, or backpacks, food or drink
Testing personnel CANNOT and WILL NOT give advice. Once you have completed all sections required to take, you may leave the test site. If you do not know which sections to take, complete all three sections.
Students can check their own TSI status by logging into the MyUNT system and going to their Student Center page. In the bottom right corner of the Student Center is a TSI link. Click the TSI link to view your TSI status.

No one is allowed to enroll in any college level English or math class until the requirements of the Texas Success Initiative have been met.
Students not passing one or more sections will be placed in a developmental program every semester for the section(s) failed until passing the test or the developmental program.
If you are taking the test on Saturday, UNT does not ticket the parking lots and you do not need a parking pass. If you are coming from Dallas, take the McCormick Street Exit, stay on the frontage road and take a right on Avenue C. Continue until you come to the second stop sign, Highland Avenue, take a right. At the second crosswalk, look to your left. You will need to walk up the walk and the Eagle Student Services Center is on the right. You may park in lot 30, D parking on the right hand side of the Highland Street.
If you are coming from Ft. Worth, 35W, follow the signs to Dallas. Take the McCormick Street Exit, turn left under the overpass and follow the above directions.
