Graduate Degree Programs

The ORC has established a Master’s and Doctoral degree program in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Clinical Research and Education.

Pre-doctoral Fellowship

The Pre-Doctoral Fellowship program (PDF) at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is for anyone in her or his third or fourth year of medical school or who wishes to extend medical school education for a one year fellowship program. The fellowship offers a stipend and paid tuition in the master’s degree program. The goal of the program is to produce clinical practitioners who think in terms of OMM teaching and research for the future. Applicants must be in good academic standing, demonstrate an interest in the osteopathic philosophy and principles, and possess an aptitude for manipulative medicine.

A Fellow spends an additional 12 months in medical school and chooses a faculty advisor who provides guidance in all aspects of the program. During the first rotation, a Fellow identifies her or his topic for scholarly work that is approved by the faculty advisor, fellowship director and department chairperson. The position of Fellow is a part-time faculty position under the supervision of the PDF Director. A Fellow is also considered a full-time student and is still eligible for financial aid.

The PDF program includes three areas of responsibility: research, clinical, and teaching. The PDF program is an integral and indispensable component of the OMM department’s academic mission. The program also provides support to the ORC.
