This dataset represents county boundaries within the High Plains study region. The dataset was derived from a 1:100,000 scale dataset of county boundaries within the conterminous United States. Specifically, this dataset represents the complete or partial state boundaries of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Texas, South Dakota, New Mexico and Oklahoma.
This dataset is intended for use with other regional datasets for the High Plains study unit for illustration and regional analyses. The dataset is at a scale of 1:100,000 and should therefore be used accordingly.
This dataset was derived from a coverage consisting of county boundaries for the conterminous United States. The original dataset is at a scale of 1:100,000. It was published by the U.S. Geological Survey based on data compiled by the Department of Commerce, Census Bureau.
