Partners for Fish and Wildlife LogoThe Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program is designed to assist private landowners in enhancing wetland, bottomland forest, riparian and grassland habitats for wildlife, fisheries, water quality, and recreation benefits.

The staff of Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge provides technical advice and matching funds to landowners in 10 southeastern Iowa and 3 western Illinois counties. Assistance may be available for restoration projects including wetland water control structures and pipe, or re-establishment of native prairies. Landowners must agree to maintain the area for a period of ten years or more.

Private landowners interested in restoring habitat on their property should contact the refuge for more information.
