Policies & Legislation
Local, regional, and national policies, agreements, and legislation
guide our priorities and procedures. Many of our regulations are
explained in the Code
of Federal Regulations.
Projects are planned to meet objectives of special programs and
policies, such as the following:
- Payments to states
- Roadless area conservation
The Colorado Ditch Bill Act (Public Law 99-545) directs the USDA
Forest Service to issue permanent easements across National Forest
System lands to those who meet the criteria established in the Act. |
The program team is compiling information about terrestrial and
aquatic ecosystems, and associated plants and animals, to integrate
into scientifically sound, efficient approaches to land management.
