Divided into geo-political areas, the section is working in support of the office of the
US Permanent Representative to maintain the United States foreign policy at the UN. |
UN Administration, Budget, Management and Reform: |

Monitors the UN budget administration. The Section interacts with the UN Secretariat on all management issues that impact
United States interests.

Economic and Social Affairs (ECOSOC): |

Spans a broad spectrum of agenda items addressed at the United Nations such as human rights, population, refugees and economic
and environmental issues.

International Law: |

Advises all United States Mission personnel on UN Charter procedural questions, guidance and recommendations on effective legal
mechanisms for the execution of United States foreign policy at the United Nations.

Military Staff Committee: |
ENTER |
Represents the Joint Chiefs of Staff on the UN Military Staff Committee, provides military advice to the U.S. Permanent Representative and mission personnel as well as coordinates with the UN on military aspects of UN operations. |
Host Country Affairs: |
ENTER |
Provides a multitude of services to the UN diplomatic community in accordance with the obligations of the U.S. Government as the host nation to the UN. |
Press and Public Diplomacy: |
ENTER |
Facilitates the worldwide flow of information concerning United States policy positions at the UN by managing all correspondence, media relations and community outreach programs for the Mission. |
