Fitness Center (top)
 ORNL's fitness facility is open to eligible users 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week. Its 30 or so pieces of equipment
include a half-dozen treadmills and elliptical trainers, a
rowing machine, upright and recumbent bikes,
a stairmaster and other machines meant for nearly
every imaginable muscle.

Educational Assistance Program (top)
In the broadest sense, "employee development" can be defined as activities and actions undertaken that allow, encourage, and support every employee with the desire to do so to fully explore his or her innate talents and capabilities, thus enabling each one to contribute to the success of the Laboratory in a unique way. Each of us must find ways to achieve our own personal growth--to maximize our possibilities. Without a doubt, one universally recognized key to personal growth is education--be it formal, classroom-based training or otherwise. The Educational Assistance Program provides for the reimbursement of funds spent for tuition, books, and laboratory fees for each successfully completed course in a qualified course of study in fields related to work at ORNL.

Onsite Health Services (top)
ORNL Health Services Division works to achieve and maintain
the highest physical and emotional health for all employees in
order to facilitate optimal job performance with minimal
stress, thereby reducing absenteeism, enhancing productivity, and prolonging employees' productive year.
Health Services offers major programs such as Patient care,
Evaluations, Laboratory Proceedures, Immunizations,
Emergancy Response, Programs to promote Healthy Living, Behavoioral Health programs, Consultants in Cardiology, Radiology and Pathology.
In addition to general meidcal services, The Health Division offers a Physical Therapy Clinic. This clinic is available to all ORNL employees through physician referral. Services include assessment and treatment for a variety of neurological and musculoskeletal problems. Treatment programs are goal-oriented and based on a thorough evaluation of the tissue, phase of healing, and extent of injury. Treatment may include modalities to decrease pain, swelling, spasm, and stiffness, and exercises to improve strength, flexibility, coordination and function.
• The clinic is staffed by a licensed physical therapist, a licensed physical therapist assistant, and a physical therapy aide.

 At the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, There is a Credit
Union On site. As an employee, you are able to join on of the best Banking establishments around, and receive Special insentives such as their Lab Checking. In addition to the
onsite credit Union, there are 19 additional
branches in the surrounding counties.
ORNL FCU is an $825 million, community credit union
providing service to businesses and anyone who lives,
works, worships, or attends school in the 16 counties of
Central East Tennessee. Our over 104,000 members live and work primarily in the Greater Knoxville area, however we have members living in each of the 50 states as well as dozens of countries around the world.

Onsite Full Service Library(top)
Since its inception in 1948, the ORNL Research Library has helped  researchers compete for and carry out research of national importance. As a part of ORNL ommunications and Community Outreach Directorate, the Library continues to provide a dynamic place for researchers to congregate and share ideas. The Library is committed to innovation and continues to increase desktop access to library services through electronic journals, online databases, Web resource guides, and electronic request forms. The library staff provides specialized information services and maintains collections at five sites across the Oak Ridge reservation. Primary subject areas covered include nuclear technology, chemistry, physics, materials science, omputer science, mathematics, engineering, and the biological and environmental sciences.
 The ORNL Library System consists of two libraries, serving the
employees of ORNL across the Oak Ridge reservation. The two
libraries, with their own areas of specialization, form an
interrelated system that enables researchers to have access
to a broad spectrum of scientific and technical information. A daily
courier service carries requested items between libraries to meet
library users' needs.
