Senator Carper visited Dover Air Force Base to break ground for the new C-17 simulator facility. The simulator was made possible by a $5 million appropriation secured by the Delaware Delegation.

Senator Carper had the chance to board and tour the Hugh R. Sharp, the University of Delaware's newest research vessel. Joining him are (l to r) Matthew Hawkins, Director of Marine Studies; Nancy Targett, Dean of College of Marine Studies; Dr. Charles E. Epifanio, Professor of Marine Biology-Biochemistry and Associate Dean of the College of Marine and Earth Studies.
