June 30, 2006 — SmyrnaSenator Carper stopped by the Smyrna Library to participate in Children's Story Time and read to the children from the book "Fourth of July" by Janet McDonnell.
June 30, 2006 — SmyrnaSenator Carper visited the Smyrna Opera House to see first-hand the recently-completed renovations. During the tour, Senator Carper and Jim Cantillon, president of the Smyrna Clayton Heritage Association, went up to the roof to get a closer look at the bell that hangs above the opera house.
June 19, 2006 — DoverSenator Carper stopped by to see progress on the first home built under the Carper/City of Dover Initiative. He was joined by proud owner Mr. Whitehurst in front of the almost-completed house. They held photos of the house from the day it was demolished in October 2005.
June 16, 2006 — RehobothSenator Carper greets the crowd in Rehoboth Beach. The senator is in the new bandstand, where officials were on hand to cut the ribbon marking the completion of the three-phased Streetscape project, $6.75 million of which was federal funding secured by Senator Carper.
June 12, 2006 — WilmingtonSenator Carper stopped by the Delaware Elwyn Adult Day Care Program and got to meet many participants.
June 12, 2006 — ClaytonSenator Carper visited the Mid-Atlantic Biodiesel Facility to check on the progress of the facility which was scheduled to open later in the summer. Founder Marty Ross presented the senator with an aerial photo of the facility in gratitude for the senator's help getting the project up and running.
June 12, 2006 — WilmingtonJune 12th marked the first day of the Summer Food Program at the Food Bank of Delaware and Senator Carper was on hand to help put together boxed lunches.
June 9, 2006 — New CastleSenator Carper paid a visit to Easter Seals' state-of-the-art facility, which recently opened to serve Sussex County and the region. He was greeted by many participants and Nancy, shown here, took time to talk with the senator about how much she loves the building.
June 9, 2006 — MilfordSenator Carper visited the Total Joint Center at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, where he got to meet patient Reginald Jackson and learn about Mr. Jackson's experience at the Center.
June 9, 2006 — GeorgetownSenator Carper joined (l-r) Dr. Jack Gelb, Director of the Avian Biosciences Center; Bill Satterfield, Delmarva Poultry Institute; Robin Morgan, Dean, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources; and Governor Ruth Ann Minner for the grand opening of the Avian Biosciences Center at the University of Delaware.
June 5, 2006 — DoverSenator Carper was greeted by State Street Assisted Living resident Mrs. Tull when he stopped in to visit the residents.
June 5, 2006 — DoverSenator Carper visited the Delaware State Fire School and got to try some new equipment used to train new firefighters.
June 5, 2006 — SmyrnaSenator Carper joined Dr. Stephanie Wright at the Delaware Aerospace Foundation "Outpost." Nearly completed, the center will serve as an educational link to future technologies. The senator stopped to look at the dinosaur collection which goes hand in hand with the "Dinosaur Dig" at the center.
