The Ray Roberts Lake / Lake Lewisville Greenbelt Corridor

The Ray Roberts Lake/Lake Lewisville Greenbelt Corridor is a 20 mile multi-use trail system (12 miles for equestrian and 10 for hike and bike use) that begins at the Ray Roberts Dam and ends at the headwaters of Lake Lewisville. This unique trail corridor meanders along the heavily wooded banks of the Elm Fork Branch of the Trinity River. Equestrians, hikers, bikers, canoeists, birdwatchers, anglers, and other outdoor enthusiasts can access the trail at one of three trailheads, located at FM 455, FM 428 and Hwy. 380. Canoe and kayak rentals are available by calling Greenbelt Canoe Rentals (817/228-9496).

Fishing: Ray Roberts Lake has emerged into a very productive fishing lake, growing in popularity among anglers. The current lake record for largemouth bass is 14.06. Crappie, white bass, and catfish are also a good catch. Please check the "TPW Outdoor Annual Official Hunting and Fishing Regulations" or click Freshwater Fishing Regulations for length and catch limits.

Tours: The Ray Roberts Lake SP Outdoor Classroom offers guided nature hikes and educational programs to school groups and other youth groups. Contact the park interpreter for information or tour reservations.

Lake Ray Roberts Marina

Lake Ray Roberts Marina

The Lake Ray Roberts Marina at the Sanger Unit is a full-service marina. They have a repair shop and boat storage; sell and rent boats and motors; sell fuel; and rent boat slips. They also sell fishing licenses, bait, groceries, and deli-snacks. The Huck's Catfish Restaurant, located adjacent to Lake Ray Roberts Marina, is now open. Area Attractions: Nearby attractions include Eisenhower State Park and Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site; Tioga, a railroad town that enjoyed prominence as a mineral water and health spa in the 1880s; Gainesville: Morton Museum, antique shops, Frank Buck Zoo, factory outlet mall;
Denton Chamber of Commerce: visit the County Historical Museum, University of North Texas, and Texas Woman's University, including Ladies Gowns Museum and Little Chapel in the Woods, Camping World, and factory outlet mall; Collinsville: the restored downtown area, antique shopping, and historical landmarks; Sanger: Heritage Sellabration, the second weekend in September; Pilot Point: third weekend in September is Pilot Point County Fair; and Aubrey Area Chamber of Commerce: known as "Horse Country USA."
