TCADA streamlines renewal process To streamline the renewal process, TCADA will mail to contractors a fiscal year 2003 contract instead of a renewal kit that requires an extensive response. Additionally, several new contract provisions are included in the renewal contracts.   Prevention specialist trainings offered A collaborative effort will bring Substance Abuse Prevention Training (SAPST) to locations in Texas. TCADA changes capacity reporting In a continuing effort to improve access to substance abuse services, TCADA initiated changes for the reporting of available capacity. A letter and procedures were sent to all funded providers on May 22. BHIPS information online TCADA added a link on its homepage to information regarding the Behavioral Health Integrated Provider System, or BHIPS. This section includes a general overview of the system, technical information, future plans and frequently asked questions. The new page also links directly to BHIPS. LCDC licensure verification now online Employers can now verify the status of a counselor's license through the TCADA web site. This capability was added to the web site in May and should increase convenience for the verification process. Licensure verification may be accessed from the Counselor Licensure section of the web site. TCADA awards additional funding TCADA awarded almost $1.8 million for eight regions for the remainder of the 2002 fiscal year.
