STILLWATER, Okla. – After weather forced a move to Oklahoma State, the #12 Cowgirls (34-11) defeated North Texas 6-0 on Wednesday night.
North Texas (29-16) mustered just one hit against one of the top pitching staffs in the country.
Bailey Tindell held the Cowgirls scoreless into the fourth inning before she was jumped for three runs all earned. She struck out two batters.
"I thought Bailey pitched really well," head coach
Rodney DeLong said. "OSU is a great team. I'm sure she's disappointed about the loss but she threw really well and had one of her best outings against a great lineup. I was really pleased with Bailey."
Tindell made way for
Jenna Goodrich who allowed the fourth run in the fourth inning capping off the Cowgirl scoring. Goodrich pitched one inning allowing the single run before making way for
Hope Trautwein who allowed two runs in the fifth in an inning of work.
Tindell re-entered to finish out the ballgame for North Texas.
Katie Clark had the lone hit for the Mean Green. Clark is now 6-for-14 across her last four games.
The Mean Green return to action in Conference USA with the second to last conference series. North Texas travels to Birmingham to face UAB in a three-game set beginning Saturday at 3 p.m. with a doubleheader.
"We battled, but it's over and we're going to move on to UAB," DeLong said. "We've got to prepare these next two days and go out there and play really well. Their record is deceiving. They're a good team."
