In response to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board requirement that each emerging research university develop its own long-term strategic plan for achieving recognition as a national research university, UNT has created a strategic plan to realize its vision of becoming a national research university:
The Strategic Plan Executive Summary Extended Summary
Creation of new knowledge and its dissemination for a better
quality of life is considered a critical mission of a research
university. This mission is pursued at the University of North
Texas by
the Office of Research and Economic Development
by assisting faculty in
their research, scholarly, and creative
activities through its three
divisions:
Research Development |
Research Services |
Economic Development |
|
|
|
UNT aspires to emerge as a major research university that is
nationally and internationally recognized for its scholarship in all fields from
fine arts to technology, humanities to life sciences, and music to
entrepreneurship. At UNT, we strive to promote research, scholarship, and
creative activities that engage faculty, research scientists, graduate and
undergraduate students, and external collaborative partners to their fullest
potential.
