Despite playing just two seasons at North Texas, Galbreath rushed for 2,417 yards and was the first player in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons and had 13 touchdowns.

In 2001, Galbreath was named the Sun Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year, and a unanimous first-team all-conference selection.

In 2002, he was a first-team all-conference pick after rushing for 1,298 yards. Against New Mexico State, he rushed for a career-high 175 yards as North Texas clinched its second straight conference title.

Galbreath capped his career by leading North Texas to its first bowl victory since 1946 in the 2002 New Orleans Bowl, where he rushed for 130 yards and was named the New Orleans Bowl MVP. He had five consecutive 100-yard rushing games in 2001 and 2002 and finished with 15 for his career, the second most at North Texas all-time.
