STRING AUDITION REPERTOIRE FOR FALL, 2019
UNT Orchestral Studies consists of two ensembles:
UNT Concert Orchestra & UNT Symphony Orchestra
Students should be prepared to play requested excerpts available online beginning July 1, 2019 found at the bottom of this page. On August 1, 2019, ALL String and Harp students will be assigned an audition time (posted online) and required to complete an online audition form. If you do not find your name, please contact Gabriela Garzon, Orchestral Studies Personnel Manager, at GabrielaGarzonAvendano@my.unt.edu to sign-up for an audition time.
Students are assigned to either Concert Orchestra (MWF 12:15pm-2:05pm) or Symphony Orchestra (MWF 2:15pm-4:05pm). Audition placement results will be posted (1) in the Murchison Performing Arts Center on the glass near the stage left exit, (2) in the College of Music on the orchestra bulletin board near room 232, and (3) online at http://orchestra.music.unt.edu/ by 8:00am on Monday, August 26, 2019.
ORCHESTRAL STUDIES ENSEMBLE PLACEMENT POLICY
Students' scheduling issues outside of the university (teaching, other work, etc.) will not be considered when making ensemble assignments, and students should not make firm commitments of this kind until the ensemble assignment process is completed.
Please note that the first rehearsal for both orchestras is Monday, August 26, 2019.
