As our campus transitions from a branch campus of the University of North Texas to a free-standing, degree granting institution, you’ll start to see many changes on our website and in our institution. We will gradually phase out the name “UNT Dallas Campus” in favor of our new name, "The University of North Texas at Dallas."
The University of North Texas at Dallas will be a 21st century teaching institution and a component of the University of North Texas System. Founded in 2000 as the UNT Dallas Campus by the University of North Texas in Denton, the flagship of the UNT System, UNT Dallas will accept its first freshman class in Fall 2010. The University’s goal will be to train citizens to be productive and lead in a global environment and to promote the values of virtue, civility, reasoning and accountability.
The University of North Texas is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. The University of North Texas at Dallas is a part of the University of North Texas and is currently seeking separate accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions about the accreditation of the University of North Texas.

Education student Mayra Martinez likes the smaller size of UNT Dallas.
“I think it’s awesome. I went to Mountain View Community College, and all the classes that I took were accepted for transfer here. They had a scholarship for me. The fees are very affordable.
The campus is small, but it’s convenient. The teachers are awesome. You know them. They know you. I’ve been here two years now, and I’m going to go for a master’s here.
I have friends who graduated from bigger universities and they don’t feel ready to go into teaching. I do, and I think it’s because we are really working hard here.”
