All projects are
identified by a unique event number. It comprises a prefix,
a 3-digit number, and a suffix. The prefix is a letter that indicates
the USAP program funding a project:

The 3-digit number provides the uniqueness for each event
number. No two projects have the same number.
The suffix represents the supporting station. If field work
takes place at more than one location the event number carries more than
one suffix separated by a slash.
