American
Community Survey (ACS)
The American Community Survey is a new nationwide survey designed
to provide communities a fresh look at how they are changing.
It will replace the long form in future censuses and is a critical
element in the Census Bureau’s reengineered 2010 census plan.
The
U.S. Census Bureau 's American Community Survey data shows that
Charlotte
is one of most educated and wealthiest cities in nation.
Special
Census
A special census is a basic enumeration of population, housing
units, and group quarters conducted by the Census Bureau at the
request of a governmental unit. When local officials believe there
has been a significant population change in their community or
due to annexation, a special census may be in order. A certified
official population increase resulting from the special census
may produce an increase in state revenue sharing or other
benefits.
