Resources and Services

The National Processing Center processes businesses’ surveys. See the sections on mail processing, data capture, imaging/scanning, and telephone centers for more information.

  • Mail Processing - used to design, print, and process forms.
  • Data Capture - used to process data from paper, images, and microfilm with unsurpassed speed and accuracy.
  • Imaging/Scanning - provides document database services for image retrieval.
  • Telephone Centers - Local telephone switches and an automated call distribution system, which is designed to minimize callers wait time, control call center workstations. Our call centers are open 7 days a week and provide coverage in all time zones.

Age Search - We search the confidential records from the Federal population censuses dating back to 1910 and issue an official transcript of the results (for a congressionally mandated fee). This can be used to satisfy situations where a birth or other certificate may be needed but is not available.

Industry and Occupation Coding - used to track labor force trends in the economy, provide profiles of new and emerging industries and occupations, and assess equal employment opportunity (EEO) in different industries and occupations.

Census Information Center Program - a cooperative program between the Census Bureau and 57 nonprofit organizations that make census information and data available to the public and communities they serve.

Federal Statistics - official statistical information available to the public from the federal government. Obtain information on economic and population trends, health care costs, aviation safety, foreign trade, energy use, farm production, and more.
