About Fares and Passes:
- Effective February 1, 2009 passes will be available at a self service kiosk at the Alvarado Transportation Center. The kiosk accepts credit and debit cards as well as the City of Albuquerque's Q-Card.
- ABQ RIDE Customer Service Center accepts cash, Visa, Mastercard or American Express for passes.
- No refunds on passes.
- Drivers don't carry money and can't open fareboxs.
- Fareboxs only accept coins (U.S. only), and $1 bills. ABQ RIDE fareboxes don't give change.
- Have exact change ready before boarding.
- Proper identification is required to purchase and use Silver Monthly Passes, Summer Fun Pass, and College Monthly Passes.
- Current school class schedule must be provided to purchase a College bus pass.
- Passes usually go on sale the 20th of each month for the following month.
- Passes aren't valid for special events.
- Most passes are prorated (half price) on the 16th of the month.
