Consulate General Naha Celebrates America’s 233 Independence Day
July 3, Naha – Rain early in the evening did not dampen the festivities as close to 800 guests turned out to help Consul General Maher and the staffs of Consulate General Naha celebrate America’s Independence. With assistance from the American Chamber of Commerce in Okinawa, the USO, the US Military and a host of other contributors and sponsors the party was a huge success. [More]
Consul General Maher Leads Media Fact Finding Trip to Guam
June 29-July 1, Agana, Guam – Consul General Kevin Maher and the staff of Consulate General Naha’s Public Affairs section lead a group of seven Okinawan reporters on a fact finding mission to Guam. While on the island, reporters visited military installations and saw the sites where Japanese money would be used to strengthen the infrastructure prior to the arrival of 8000 marines and their dependants as a part of the Futenma Relocation Project.
