U.S. Education Secretary Announces State-by-State Dollars in New York

The U.S. Department of Education posted on-line state-by-state estimates of new education revenues included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan vowed to release a significant share of the $100 billion in funding in time to avert teacher layoffs.

OMB releases detailed Recovery Act guidance to agencies

The work of ensuring that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is carried out with the highest standards of transparency and accountability is an enormous government-wide effort. To ensure these principles are upheld in every part of government, the Office of Management and Budget today released the first installment of guidance to Federal agencies for carrying out programs and activities enacted in the recovery plan. It contains immediate steps to be taken to ensure timely and effective implementation of the Act. Please view the memo here.

Duncan Hails Passage of President's Stimulus Package, Cites "Historic Opportunity to Create Jobs and Advance Reform"
