With an emphasis on the people who made the entire lunar landing program possible, KSC has events planned for the 16 July launch anniversary and the following day.

16 July, dinner at the Apollo / Saturn V Center for former Apollo Space Workers.  The focal point of the dinner is to recognize the contributions of the thousands of workers who made the lunar landing program possible.  Tickets are available from the Apollo 11 Commemoration Association, P.O. Box 321221, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931-1221.  Tickets must be ordered by July 2nd.

17 July, special events for the general public will be held at the KSC Visitor Complex.

Cocoa Beach, FL
17 July, former Grumman employees, along with their families, are invited to a reunion at the Comfort Inn and Suites.  Tickets are $10 each.

Titusville, FL
Space View Park
16 July, ground breaking ceremony for the U.S. Space Walk of Fame Apollo monument.  Free continental breakfast at 9am, ground breaking at 9:32 am (launch time of Apollo 11) . Contact Dr. Calvin Fowler (407) 784-6222 for further information.

17 July, 30th Anniversary Reunion Picnic will be held from 6 to 11pm.  Tickets are $15 and limited to the first 1,200 people to make reservations.  Tickets are available from the Apollo 11 Commemoration Association, P.O. Box 321221, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931-1221.

21-23 July, 1-3 p.m., Track 27 at Union Station, Washington, DC. NASA employees are invited to a special showing of "Artistry of Space," an exhibit of 78 artworks from the collections of the NASA Art Program and the National Air and Space Museum. The exhibit will also be open to the general public on 24-25 July, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Track 10 at Union Station. Admission is free.

21 July, a moon rock dedication ceremony will take place at 10:30am in Pioneer Court, adjacent to Tribune Tower, 435 N. Michigan Ave.  Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin will be the featured speaker.  This is a free event and open to the public.  Contact Katherine Sopranos at (312) 222-4204 for more information.
 

Huntsville, AL
18 - 20 July, six Apollo astronauts, including Buzz Aldrin, will be at the US Space and Rocket Center.  The new full size standing Saturn V rocket will also be completed and displayed.  On all three nights there will be a live presentation and re-enactment of the moon landing, done by actors.  There will be music, food and and fireworks (on July 20).  Admission is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children.  Gates will open at 6:15 p.m. each night, with the re-enactment program starting at 8:30 p.m.  This will be an outdoor event.
 

Alameda, CA
16-25 July, The USS HORNET, Recovery Aircraft Carrier for Apollo 11 &12, will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing Mission and Honor Apollo 11 Astronaut Buzz Aldrin.  Hosted by the Aircraft Carrier Hornet Museum, Moonfest 1999 will feature NASA exhibits, daily films, lectures, demo's, evening astronomy, and special events on the 16th, 20th, and 24th.  Buzz Aldrin will be in attendance on the 24th, along with other Apollo astronauts.  Located at Pier 3 Alameda Point, call 510-521-8448 for more information.
