GO Zone Investments and Incentives

On November 9, AIT and State of Louisiana jointly held the investment seimnar to promote investment in Gulf Opportunity Zone

The Governor of Louisiana and American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) jointly organized an investment seminar that introduced Louisiana’s investment opportunities and the attractive incentives enacted by The Gulf Opportunity (GO) Zone Act of 2005, which was signed by US President Bush. The GO Zone Act has created the most pro-business investment environment in U.S. history.

VIP speakers at the seminar included the Governor of Louisiana, the Deputy Director of AIT, the President of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, and the Director General of Department of Investment Services of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The seminar also included a Chinese language overview of the GO Zone investment opportunities by the AIT Commercial Section.

The GO Zone investment incentives should be especially attractive to Taiwanese companies from the following industries: oil & gas, petrochemicals; port upgrades & operation; real estate development; construction & building materials; seafood processing / agriculture; warehousing & distribution; auto manufacturing & parts supply; and steel supply & fabrication.

The event was co-organized by the American Institute in Taiwan, the State of Louisiana, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
