Case scenario
Ms. T. is a 19 y/o G1P0 at 15 weeks gestation. Her multiple marker screen returns positive for fetal neural tube defect (NTD) on the basis of an elevated maternal serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) of 4.23 MoM (multiples of the median). What constitutes appropriate management and counseling at this point?
