NSPS Review by the Defense Business Board Task Group
On March 16, 2009, DoD and OPM announced a review of the National Security Personnel System (NSPS) . On May 14, 2009, the Deputy Secretary of Defense requested the Defense Business Board (DBB) establish a task group to review NSPS to help the Department determine: (1) if the underlying design principles and methodology for implementation are reflected in the program objectives; (2) whether the program objectives are being met; and (3) whether NSPS is operating in a fair, transparent, and effective manner.
The DBB task group recently announced its schedule of public meetings. The meetings will be held June 25 and 26 at the Hyatt-Arlington. In addition written comments will be accepted until June 26; however comments received after June 18 may not arrive in time for task group consideration before the meeting.
Information on the DBB task group, public meetings, and procedures/timeframe for providing written comments can be found on the Defense Business Board website at http://www.defenselink.mil/dbb/nsps.html.
