The U.S. Commercial Service is the United States’ primary export promotion agency.  Utlizing a global network of offices in over 100 cities in the U.S. and 85 countries around the world, it is dedicated to helping U.S. companies promote their products and services overseas and assisting them compete more effectively in the global marketplace.

The U.S. Commercial Service in Almaty opened for business in July 1993 to promote U.S.-Kazakhstani commercial relations and profitable business partnerships between U.S. and Kazakhstani enterprises. The U.S. Commercial Service is staffed by a corps of multi-lingual Kazakhstani commercial specialists with expertise in several industry sectors critical to U.S.-Kazakhstani trade and investment. 

The U.S. Commercial Service Almaty manages the SABIT technical assistance program for Central Asia, building commercial partnerships and providing technical assistance by training Eurasian business leaders in U.S. business practices.  These training programs directly support Eurasian economic and civil society development by encouraging market-based reforms, while generating valuable export and investment opportunities for U.S. industry.
