Software glitch affects some OPPS, physician fee comments

Comments on the proposed calendar year 2010 rules for the hospital outpatient prospective payment system and physician fee schedule should be resubmitted if they were submitted via www.regulations.gov between July 26 and 30, when the Web site experienced a software problem, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced late Friday. The comment period for both rules ends at 5 p.m. on Aug. 31. The software problem has been corrected, so comments may be resubmitted electronically or delivered by mail or hand as specified in the CMS announcement. The AHA will submit comments on both proposed rules later this week.
