Neuroscience Program

Website: http://www.usuhs.mil/nes/home.html

The Graduate Program in Neuroscience is an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program with courses and research training provided by Neuroscience Faculty holding primary appointments in the many Departments in the School of Medicine of the Uniformed Services. The Program is designed for students with a strong undergraduate background in biology, physical sciences, or experimental/physiological psychology and who wish to pursue a professional career in neuroscience research.

Pathology Program

Website: http://www.usuhs.mil/pat

The Department of Pathology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences is a dynamic environment for research into molecular approaches to pathology. The faculty members are engaged in research at the cutting edge of their various disciplines. The combination of an outstanding faculty and a modern, well-situated facility provides an exciting opportunity for pre-doctoral and postdoctoral training. Our programs and facilities are described in this brochure. We welcome your interest in our graduate studies program and postdoctoral research training opportunities.

Pharmacology Program

Website: http://www.usuhs.mil/pha

Pharmacology is concerned with the actions of chemicals (including drugs) on biological systems. Modern pharmacological research is directed at elucidating the mechanisms of drug action at the molecular, cellular systems, and behavioral levels, and the application of this knowledge to the rational and effective use of existing drugs, and to the development of novel therapeutic agents. The USU Department of Pharmacology provides instructional programs on the nature and mechanisms of actions of drugs and their therapeutic applications.

Preventive Medicine & Biometrics Program

Website: http://www.usuhs.mil/pmb

The Department of Preventive Medicine and Biometrics offers programs of study leading to the degrees of Master of Public Health, Master of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Master of Science in Public Health, Doctor of Public Health, Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Health Science, and Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Zoology. The faculty is committed to providing the highest level of education in public health and health services.

The mission of the PMB Graduate Programs in Public Health is to enhance and protect the health of members of the Uniformed Services by producing knowledgeable and highly skilled public health professionals and by promoting evidence-based policy making, research, and service initiatives that support the global mission of the Uniformed Services.
