• December 12, 2008: NIST Special Publication 800-22rev1 (dated August 2008), " A Statistical Test Suite for the Validation of Random Number Generators and Pseudo Random Number Generators for Cryptographic Applications, " that describes the test suite.
• Download the NIST Statistical Test Suite.

  July 7, 2008: A new version of the Statistical Test Suite (Version 2.0) has been released. This version has been tested on several Intel-based platforms including: Windows XP Pro, Ubuntu Linux and Mac OS X. Additionally sample data derived from various sources (e.g., the expansion of e, the square root of 2, etc.) is also provided.

  August 25, 2008: A minor revision of the Statistical Test Suite (Version 2.0b) has been released. This version has a minor correction of a parameter check in the Random Excursion Test and an indexing error in the results file.

  February 9, 2009: NIST has discovered a problem with the Fast Fourier Transform test. At this time NIST advises disregarding the results of this test until a further update is posted.
