Safe Water System (SWS) Conferences

Upcoming Conferences

CDC is working with the American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Federation to hold a conference in Atlanta in May
2009 on household water treatment in developing countries. The intended audience is researchers, academics, students, engineers, public health specialists, implementers, NGOs, government agencies and others involved in researching and implementing household water treatment options.

The call for abstracts has not yet been released, but this website will be updated as the conference is planned. Please email safewater@cdc.gov for more information at this time.

World Water Forum IV in Mexico City - March 2006

CDC is proud to participate in the household water treatment panel and the Fourth World Water Forum in Mexico City in March 2006, discussing implementation strategies for household water treatment options. This Fact Sheet (PDF - 873KB) was developed for distribution at the Conference.

The International Network to Promote Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage:

The second annual meeting of the International Network to Promote Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage (PDF-165KB) was held at the Norfolk Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, on 14-15 June 2004. The CARE/CDC/PSI Safe Water Symposium followed the Network meeting on 16-17 June 2004. The purpose of the Network meeting was: (1) To discuss the Network work plan 2004-2005, and (2) To promote Network activities in Africa.
