FHP&R Mission The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) for Force Health Protection & Readiness (FHP&R) serves as the principal staff assistant and advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs) for all DoD deployment medicine policies, programs, and activities. In carrying out these responsibilities the office is responsible for deployment related health policy, doctrine, theater information systems, system rightsizing, and international agreements.
