The Timeline lists key events in the development of IAE from 2001 to today.
- June 2000 - Associate Director of OMB for Information Technology (IT) and
- E-Government (E-Gov) appointed
- 2000 - FBO launched
- July 18, 2001 - Quicksilver project formed by OMB
- September 2001 - Quicksilver announces 24 E-Gov “electronic procurement initiatives,” including IAE (“the birth of IAE”)
- October 2001 - IAE Program Manager established
- 2002 - CCR adopted by IAE and federally funded in 2003
- July 2002 - PPIRS launched
- December 2002 - FedReg deployed
- February 2003 - FedTeDS launched
- April 17, 2003 - E-Gov Act of 2002 signed by President Bush
- April 2003 - Awarded contract for new FPDS system
- October 2003 - FBO official point of entry for contracts $25K
- October 2003 - WDOL launched
- December 2003 - FPDS-NG launched
- June 2004 - IAE organizational change. IAE PMO moved from GSA's Federal Supply Service to the Office of the GSA Chief Acquisition Officer (OCAO) in GSA’s Office of Acquisition Systems (OAS)
- September 2004 - ORCA initial operating capability
- October 28, 2005 - eSRS full operating capacity
- December 2006 - new EPLS contract awarded
- March 31, 2008 - new FBO launched with FedTeDS functionality
- March 2009 - Final AOCS RFP is released
