  • EDA submitted proposed ARRA spend plan to Congress.
  • NTIA submitted proposed ARRA spend plan to Congress.
  • NTIA's TV Converter Coupon Program accepted requests for 445,256 coupons with a value of $17,810,240.
  • NTIA's TV Converter Coupon Program reimbursed retailers for 250,924 coupons with a value of $10,036,097.
  • NTIA spoke on a panel hosted by the National Conference of State Legislatures' (NCSL) Standing Committee on Communications, Financial Services and Interstate Commerce regarding the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program
  • Census hired 53 partnership staff positions in its regional offices
 Major Planned Actions:
  • The Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Economic Development Administration (EDA) will testify before the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on Wednesday, April 29 regarding the bureau's progress in implementing ARRA.
  • The Department and all five bureaus receiving ARRA funding will submit program plans to OMB on May 1.
  • NTIA expects to issue a press release on its proposed spend plan
  • NTIA will participate in a community forum in NYC regarding Recovery Act programs that are available.
