 Financial Status:
  • Total Available: $3,350,621

 Major Actions Taken to Date:
  • Contracting requirements for Recovery Act projects were published in the March 31, 2009 Federal Register. This allows DoD to begin awarding contracts for Recovery Act projects.
  • DoD awarded its first Recovery Act project contracts. Total DoD Obligations to date are $3.4 million, including $2.7 million for a Marine Corps Vehicle Maintenance Facility and Tactical Vehicle & Equipment Storage area in Cincinnati, OH; a $ 0.5 million Navy project for Steam Line Replacement in Norfolk VA; and $0.2 million for the Army Corps of Engineers for the management of the Homeowners Assistance program.
  • DOD is finalizing the remaining Army and Army National Guard Facility Sustainment Restoration and Modernization (FSRM) project lists to submit to OMB for approval by April 18th .
  • DoD managers met with the DoD Inspector General to discuss details on Recovery Act financial data collection and reporting.
  • The US Army Corps of Engineers and the Army have finalized fund transfer procedures for managing Facility Sustainment Restoration and Modernization (FSRM) projects which will ease the financial reporting process.
 Major Planned Actions:
  • DoD will submit a report to the White House Council on Environmental Quality on National Environmental Protection Act and National Historic Preservation Act requirements by April 9.
  • The Department is reviewing the updated guidance provided by OMB on April 3 and is working to ensure procedures are established to meet reporting requirements. This includes weekly financial data submissions as well as the Agency and Program plans due on May 1.
  • The Navy plans to award at least 5 FSRM projects and 1 additional Military Construction project by April 10.
  • DoD continues to develop Homeowner's Assistance Program implementation guidance.
